He started as a developer. Later he led a technology company that established itself on the global electron microscopy market, and became a board member of an international technology group. Martin Zadražil now brings his experience to the humanoid robot George project.
As a mentor and strategic sparring partner, he will focus primarily on the transition from working technology to an industrial product, on manufacturing readiness, and on the conditions needed for further scaling of the company.

From Developer to Leading a Global Technology Company
Martin Zadražil joined TESCAN as a developer in 1998. As the company grew technologically and commercially, his role gradually changed as well, from development and leading technical teams all the way to the company's top management.
In 2009 he became CEO of TESCAN. Four years later he took part in merging TESCAN with the French company Orsay Physics and in the creation of the TESCAN ORSAY HOLDING group. In the new group he served as COO and at the same time as a member of the board.
During his tenure, TESCAN transformed from a smaller Brno-based technology company into a major international manufacturer of scientific instruments with its own subsidiaries and customers all over the world.
Martin thus gained practical experience with the entire journey of a technology product, from development through industrialization, manufacturing, and the supply chain, to service, international business, and managing a growing technology company.
He is also a co-author of several patents and has long operated at the intersection of research, technology, and business.
After leaving TESCAN, he focused on supporting technology companies and deeptech projects. He works as a mentor, investor, and member of advisory and supervisory bodies of technology companies. He also cooperates with the Brno innovation agency JIC, where he works with founders of deeptech projects, especially in the fields of physics, electronics, precision engineering, and scientific instrumentation.
From Prototype to Industrial Product
Humanoid robotics connects mechanics, electronics, sensorics, control, software, and artificial intelligence. But a functional prototype is only one of the steps. For industrial deployment, the robot must be reproducible, reliable, and ready for manufacturing in larger volumes.
This is exactly where Martin's role will be most important. He will help the team with decisions around product industrialization, setting up manufacturing processes, the supply chain, quality, service, and the gradual scaling of production. He brings the experience of someone who has already been through a similar process once.
His task will not be to manage the development of the robot itself. He will help create the conditions for the technology under development to become a product capable of real industrial deployment.

Martin's arrival is also significant in terms of the market. Robot George is currently opening an Angel Investment Round and developing a partner program for companies that want to cooperate on the development and future industrial deployment of a European humanoid robot.
